Questions We Hear a Lot — Answered Honestly

Are Maltese dogs good for first-time owners?

Yes — they’re affectionate, relatively calm, and respond well to gentle handling. Their small size also makes them very manageable.

How much exercise does a Maltese need?

Short walks and indoor play sessions are enough to keep a Maltese happy. They don’t need a lot of space or vigorous exercise.

Do Maltese dogs bark a lot?

They can be vocal, particularly if they sense strangers nearby. Early socialisation helps them become calmer and more confident.

What is the minimum age at which you rehome puppies?

We rehome from 45 days onwards and never before. Before that point, pups are still learning critical social behaviours from their mother and littermates.

Can I see the puppy’s parents before deciding?

In most cases, yes. Seeing the sire or dam gives you a good sense of the adult size, coat colour, and energy level your pup will grow into.
