Silent. Dignified. Profoundly loyal. The Akita is a breed steeped in history — originating in Japan as a symbol of good health, happiness, and long life. Their loyalty to their family is legendary.

At Pets Hub Puppies, we raise Akitas with the respect and care this noble breed deserves — in a structured environment that shapes their natural confidence and deep loyalty.

Questions We Hear a Lot — Answered Honestly

Are Akitas suitable for families with children?

Akitas can be wonderful with children they are raised with and know well. They are best suited to families with older, respectful children and owners who understand the breed.

Are Akitas aggressive?

A well-raised Akita is not randomly aggressive. They are reserved with strangers and protective of their family — but composed and stable in familiar settings.

How much exercise does an Akita need?

Moderate to substantial daily exercise suits Akitas well. They enjoy walks and outdoor time but are not hyperactive dogs.

What is the minimum age at which you rehome puppies?

We rehome from 45 days onwards and never before. Before that point, pups are still learning critical social behaviours from their mother and littermates.

Can I see the puppy’s parents before deciding?

In most cases, yes. Seeing the sire or dam gives you a good sense of the adult size, coat colour, and energy level your pup will grow into.
